MSA’s Learn to Sail Program at the
Winnipeg Sailing Centre!

Have you always wanted to learn to sail, but found the drive to the nearest Yacht Club too long, and the large lakes too intimidating? The Manitoba Sailing Association and the Fort Whyte Centre have teamed up to offer sailing lessons within the city at the Winnipeg Sailing Centre.

Fort Whyte's small lakes are ideal for beginner and intermediate sailors alike. We’re offering something for the whole family all summer long.

For children ages 7 to 15 we recommend sailing lesson in the safe and stable Optimist dinghy, which introduces them to the life-long sport of sailing. Click here for Course Dates. For teens and adults we offer sailing lessons in the comfort of our Club 420 sail boats. Click here for Course Dates.

The small lakes at the Winnipeg Sailing Centre at Fort Whyte provide an excellent venue for safe and exciting sailing. The MSA aims for safety while sailing. Our instructor/student ratio is 1:5 and lifejackets, which are provided, are mandatory while on and around the water. Our certified instructors will always be close by either in a coach boat on the water or on shore, depending on the skills of the sailor.

The Fort Whyte Centre is located at 1961 McCreary Road in Winnipeg.

For more information on our sailing programs call the Manitoba Sailing Association @ 925-5650 or send an email to sailing@sport.mb.ca.

Keep in mind - with sailing everything depends on the water and weather conditions.
