Racing Program for Sailors with a Disability
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU! A sailing event for sailors with a disability in the 2.4mR class was added for the Canada Summer Games in 2013. Sail Manitoba now has two of these boats available to train athletes for the Games in 2013. You don't have to be a sailor to get started. You will learn the ropes right from the beginning and our coaches will teach you everything about boat-handling and racing.

Keelboat Racing
Wednesday night keelboat racing at the Gimli Yacht Club started on Wednesday, June 1.
Buffalo Cup at the Winnipeg Sailing Centre
Our annual Buffalo Cup at the WSC at Fort Whyte Alive will take place June 8 at 5:30pm. This short course regatta is open to anyone. We will have 420s, FJs, Martin 16s and Optis available. Pizza and beverages will be served after racing

Spring Training
A reminder that our spring training is being held Mondays and Wednesdays in 420s until June 30 at the WSC. The weekend training is from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Gimli YC.
CYA Sail West
Sail West will be held from August 4-7 at the Gimli YC. It includes Optis, Lasers, 420s, 29ers, 2.4ms, Martin 16s, Windsurfing and an open class. We will offer professional development opportunities and everyone is invited to attend the Race Assistant Clinic, the Judge Level 1 Clinic and the Community Coach Clinic. Wascana Short Course Champs
Two Laser and two Radial sailors attended the first regatta of the year in Regina . The 5th annual Wascanna Short Course Championships was sailed on May 17 in rainy and windy conditions.

In order to be covered by the Sport Manitoba liability insurance for your racing events in the upcoming sailing season, send an email to sailing@sportmanitoba.ca and apply for approval. The Sanctioning Policy can be found at www.sailmanitoba.com under about us/policies.
Membership Fees
Attention Club Commodores: The membership invoices for the 2011 season have been send out. Please submit your payment before the season starts to insure that you are in good standing. Upon arrival of the payment we will send out the CYA membership cards. If you have a question please call our office at 925-5648.
