Boat Show Volunteers Wanted
The 2009 Mid-Canada Boat Show takes place from February 26 to March 1 at the
Winnipeg Convention Centre. MSA is looking for volunteers to help staff the
booth throughout the show. If you or members of your Club are interested
in helping out, please have them contact the MSA office at 925-5650. We are
pleased to display any of our member's promotional materials at the show. Please
drop them off at the MSA office in advance.

Pleasure Craft Operators Card
The deadline is nine months away . If one of your New Year's resolutions is
to obtain your pleasure craft operators card, then remember that Sept 15, 2009
is the critical date. After Sept 15, 2009 everyone operating a pleasure craft
fitted with a motor must be in possession of the Pleasure Craft Operators Card.

and Development committee has approved the recommendation of a heritage designation

CYA Requires Volunteers
The Canadian Yachting Association is in the process of reorganizing itself as
it moves from a functional to a strategic governance model. Volunteers are needed
for committees reporting to the Board of Directors and for working committees,
councils and work groups who work closely with staff and report to the Executive
Director. If you are interested to fill a position, contact the MSA office at

Rule Books: New R acing R ules for 2009 - 2012
The 2009 - 2012 racing rules became effective on January 1, 2009.
While that doesn't impact us immediately, it is now time to purchase
your new rule book and study the changes which have taken place
from the previous version. Rule book s are available at the MSA
office.

Mobility Cup 2009
The 2009 Mobility Cup will be hosted in Toronto from August 31 st to September
4th, 2009. Racing takes place on Lake Ontario, sailing out of the Ashbridges

Mobility Cup 2010
Mobility Cup 2010 will be run by Disabled Sailing Association of BC (DSA-BC)
from
Sept ember 13 -17 . It will take place in English Bay, and include s one
day of training and four days of racing.
420 North Americans in 2009
The Club 420 NA's will take place in Holland, Michigan at the
Macatawa Bay Yacht Club from August 13-16. It is also the
intention of the 420 class to sponsor a 420 clinic for two days
prior to the racing event.
