MSA AGM and Board Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday, November 3 at 5:30pm on
the 2 nd floor of Sport Manitoba in room 229 (Room changed) and will be followed
by a board meeting. It would be great to have a representative from every Yacht
Club at the AGM.
MSA Awards and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
The annual Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, November 7 at 6:00pm in
the Alloway Reception Centre at Fort Whyte Alive. Please come and support Manitoba
's volunteers and athletes.
Hall of Fame Dinner
Support Murray McCaig at the upcoming induction dinner at the Victoria Inn on
Saturday, November 8. The doors open at 5:00pm and tickets are $100 each. Please
call the MSA office at 925-5647 to order your ticket.
Annual Planning Session
Don't
miss the annual planning session on Thursday, November 20 at 6:00pm
in room 227 on the 2 nd floor of Sport Manitoba. All the regattas
and training camps in Manitoba for the upcoming season will be
established at this meeting. I f you would like to host an
event or if you want to book the mobile sailing school for
your club in the next season p lease send a representative from
your club to this meeting .
Safeway Fundraiser
We are running the Safeway Card Fundraiser again this fall. It's
a great gift or stocking stuffer for friends, family and neighbors
and you support the Manitoba Sailing Team. For more information

 The Disney Movie 'Morning Light' is coming to Winnipeg. Watch
the next newsletter for the date and location.
Roy E. Disney, Conceiver, Producer, Executive Producer about the movie ~ "We're
not making a film about sailboat racing and we're not making a film about a boat.
It's a story about a group of young adults sailing across an ocean, the obstacles
they encounter and the bonds they form. It's a story about becoming more than
the sum of the parts."
Boat Show
The 2009 Mid-Canada Boat Show will take place from February 26 to March 1, 2009
at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
Learn to Cruise Winter Schedule
The new winter learn to cruise schedule is out and we are offering 11 courses

Race Management Courses
An assistant race officer course is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 9:00am
- 1:00pm and a club race officer course is scheduled for Saturdays, March 28
and April 4 from 9:00am - 2:00pm. The courses are held at Sport Manitoba.
 Team Event at the Corn Maze
On Friday, October 10 the Sailing Team met at the Corn Maze
on St. Mary's Road for a BBQ and get together. A big thank you
goes to our departing parent representative Penny McMorris for
organizing this event. The next team event is scheduled for November
22. Check your emails about location and topic.
New Parent Representative
At the last parent meeting Tannis Leach was appointed as new parent representative.
A huge thank you goes to Penny McMorris for all her work over the past years.
New Team Representative
Paloma Corrin was selected by the team for the position of the athlete representative
and a big thank you goes to our departing rep Dylan McMorris.
Bingos
