Porthole Submissions

The spring issue of the Porthole is in the works. Please don’t forget to send in your articles, stories, pictures and of course lot’s of ads. Submission deadline will be April 4, 2008

Respect in Sport

Please team members, parents, team committee or board members, instructors and coaches log on to http://sportmanitoba.essentialtalk.com/ and take the Respect in Sport course. Coaches and instructors please note that in order to get certified and insured for the upcoming season you have to take this mandatory online course.

LEARN TO CRUISE

Coastal Navigation Course

Just a reminder that we will hold the Coastal Navigation Course on Wednesday March 12th until April 30th from 6:30pm – 10:00pm at Sport Manitoba. Course Conductor will be George Bush. The price for this course is $250 plus taxes.

New Basic Cruising Weekend Course

MSA scheduled an additional Basic Cruising Course for Saturdays Mach 29, April 5 and April 12 from 9:00am – 6:00pm. Course Conductor will be Wolfe Smythe.

2008 Power Smart Manitoba Games

The Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games are revving up for regional qualifying events in preparation of crossing the finish line at the Provincial Finals in Carman, August 14 to 17, 2008. Online registrations are now accepted for the Regional Qualifying Events which are being held between June 21 and July 19. INSTRUCTORS AND COACHES

Coaches and Instructor Clinic

MSA is implementing CYA's new certification model for instructors and coaches. We will run a Learn to Sail Coaching Clinic for White Sail Coach and Bronze Sail Coach certification (former green + blue), a Learn to Race Coach Clinic (new level between blue and orange), a Program Manager Module (former red) and a one day Wet Feet Clinic. Radial Worlds

Tanja Smutny will be leaving today for the Olympic Qualifier at the Radial Worlds in New Zealand . She will be joined by coach Brigitte in a few days. Good luck!

Next Team Event

The Manitoba Sailing Team is planning to skate the worlds longest skating rink. Join us at the forks on March 8th. Contact Team Rep Dylan for more info.

New Program at the Winnipeg Sailing Centre

Midwinter's West in San Diego

Coronado Yacht Club in San Diego invites all 29er sailors to the 29er Midwinter West on March 29-30. They are helping anyone with boat charters and housing. There will be a Clinic on Thursday and Friday prior to the event. For more info contact Brigitte at 925-5647.

CYA Sail West in Victoria/BC

For more information and the Notice of Race for CYA Sail West, which also includes the CYA 16 and Under Western National Sailing Championships, the CYA 15 and Under Western National Championships for Optimists and the Canadian 470 Class National Championship visit our website.
