On a recent trip to the Caribbean, film makers Justin and Jonathan Troupe were so impressed by the energy and personality of Freddie Mills and the crew on the 80s era maxi Kialoa V http://www.kialoav.com/ that they decided to make a TV show about it. The 25-person crew will be half dudes and half chicks, and tryouts are THIS WEEK in Newport, RI.
From the Producer:
We intend to shoot the first season this spring by competing in 4 to 5 Caribbean races over 2 months. The show will be about racing, but also life in the Caribbean. Between races, we will be diving, surfing, exploring, and of course drinking.
We are doing a last minute casting call in Newport the 25th to the 27th of this month, and we need you to come up and see us! We are trying to balance the cast with an even amount of guys and girls, and we still need around 6 more girls and 3 to 4 guys to fill out a crew of 25. If you're a badass sailor, who is well travelled, between the ages of 20 to 30, and think you would be great on camera, please get in touch with us right away!
