The Mobility Cup
is Canada's annual international regatta for sailors with
a
disability. This year's event is held in Vancouver, BC,
Sept. 11 - 15, 2006.
It is a "regatta of possibility" in which personal
and social barriers are
challenged in an atmosphere of friendly competition. The
event is open to
anyone, regardless of the severity of their disability or
extent of sailing
experience.
This year's Mobility Cup is being hosted by the Disabled
Sailing Association
of BC and the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Racing will be
in Martin 16s, held
in two classes. There will be practice sessions for Gold
Fleet sailors, with
classroom and on-the-water training for Silver Fleet participants.
Boat
charters will be available.
