The
Assistant Race Officer (ARO) is the entry level for
Race Management and is meant for anyone who wishes
to learn to “ assist in running a local sailing race
event”. The clinic is open to volunteers, parents,
instructors, sailors and anyone else who wishes to
learn more about organizing and running a sailing
race. Topics covered are assisting in timing, recording,
flag operation, sound signaller, line judge, mark
setting, practical exercises and will also touch
on other subjects of Race Management. Participants
attend to either hone their skills or learn the basics
of Race Management so that they could assist in running
races.
